Sometimes, you just know when you've come across the right thing to do. I think animal lovers like myself are always looking out for a reason and a way to do something for the greater good, whether it's educating friends about reasons why NOT to go to breeders or taking the time to volunteer at a rescue event.
For me, my business is pretty all-consuming in terms of time. I do just about everything, from marketing to bookkeeping to the actual work (with some assistance from a few good folks). I've noticed that since I've started the business a few years ago, the amount of time I could volunteer diminished drastically. Still, it really was important to reach out and make a difference somehow.
Well, it finally dawned on me -- and I don't know why I didn't do it sooner. That's how Tiger's Animal Rescue Fund came to be.
Honestly, I don't know how successful this will be. I don't know if this will capture anyone's attention, and I don't know if corporations really care. From my volunteer time, I know that rescues are supported by people of all different backgrounds and occupations, so it seems that someone somewhere will see this and think it's a good idea.
In the meantime, I'll be posting various things on this blog, including my monthly ad, fun photos of my rescued pets, updates on where the money's going to, and a few other things. Let's go save some lives and write some marketing copy -- woo-hoo!
